This is a piece of art that focused on the strength and courage of slaves who strove for a better life for themselves and their children. This piece illustrated the fear many slaves had to endure to try to be free. Their fight for freedom for themselves and their children overcame that fear. I cannot let fear hinder me from facing my challenges for a better life. If fear does take a foothold in my life I think back to how far my God has brought my ancestors.
